House rules

How Holo keeps the book honest

Variants first

Base, SP, foil, refractor, Prizm, and numbered print runs are different cards. A wrong ID is one tap to fix, and that tap trains the next scan.

Sold comps only

Every market number opens the sold book: source, date, condition. Thin books are marked. Asking prices stay out of the sold figure.

Scan the glare

Foil and holo get a second angle. Unread cards stay unread — we do not invent a slip.

Checklists

Sets show what you have. Missing cards go on the want list.

Cost basis

Paid vs market, dollars and percent. Alerts fire on real moves, not pennies.

Rarity points

One book for every brand. A common is 1. A 1/1 is 100. Autos and relics add. A 10 slab multiplies. Disney, Star Wars, baseball, Transformers — same scale.

Honest board

No photo, no points. Stacks of the same slip count once. A chase without sold comps sits at parallel until the book can see it. Grade multipliers do not fire on an unverified claim.

Export anytime

Take your book with you. Nobody re-types a collection.

Not a marketplace

Holo does not take disputes or decide who won a sale. Log a private or show sale if you want the book to remember it.

We will not

  • No black-box price with no comps behind it.
  • No mixing asks into sold.
  • No subscriptions that punish collectors with a tiny vault or a locked scanner.
  • No ignoring a correction.
  • No farming the board with stacks, fake 1/1s, or slabs the sold book cannot see.
  • No pretending we are a marketplace.
